Information on the Climbing Wall

"The climbing wall will be on the south side of the gym. There is currently a committee for the climbing wall as mandated by the district. The notion of horizontal climbing walls in the district came from the PE teachers. It's prefabricated so the holes can be moved from a 6 inch center in any direction. There is a hook system for mats can be hung over the wall so you don't have an impact problem with other activities when the mat isn't in use. Then when the wall is in use the mats can be placed on the floor to protect the little bit of fall that there is. We had this all dialed in and it is in our job and all the materials are here. But then we received a message that all climbing walls in the district are currently on hold until they can study them in detail to come up with standards for how they should be built. ...I believe those standards will largely resemble what we built. But we can't install the holes until the committee sorts out what it needs to do and any modifications they deem necessary to our approach would have to be done and then the wall could be used."
